Operated by one person. One product in the world: DoveBoard. Four divisions in development — named below, with what each is for and where it actually stands.

The position

Own the foundation, or rent the business.

Data ownership is not a feature this company adds to things. It is the reason the things are shaped the way they are, and it is three specific commitments rather than a mood.

The data sits on hardware you own.

Not synchronised to somebody else's cloud for convenience and described as private. On a disk, in a building you can walk into, under a backup you control and can restore from without asking permission.

The system can be inspected.

If a thing runs your business, you should be able to read what it does, watch it do it, and stop it. That rules out a good deal of otherwise convenient software, and it is meant to.

Nothing depends on a vendor staying up.

A company built on rented foundations inherits every outage, every price rise and every product decision made above it. This one is built to fail only for its own reasons — which is a smaller promise than it sounds, and a much easier one to keep.

The shape

One foundation, one pipeline, one trade.

Five divisions is a lot for a company this size, and it would be fair to assume they are five unrelated ventures under one name. They are not. Drawn as dependencies, they collapse into three things.

The foundation

Infrastructure is the ground. It is the compute, the storage and the network everything else runs on, and every other division on this page is a tenant of it. Build this badly and nothing above it can be trusted.

The pipeline

Product Invention originates and proves. Web and App Development builds the thing properly and ships it. Automated Revenue Operations takes what is proven and built and makes it run without a person in the loop. It runs in one direction, and a thing has to earn each step.

The trade

Car Audio and Detailing sits outside the software entirely — hands, tools, and a vehicle that leaves better than it arrived. It is here on purpose: a company whose only trade is software has exactly one kind of weather.

That articulation is this site's own. There is no org chart it was copied from — it is what the five divisions turn out to be once you draw which one depends on which.

The five divisions

Named, scoped, and honestly labelled.

Each one gets what it is, what it is for, and where it actually stands today. One of the five has something finished in the world. The other four say so plainly, in the order they will be built.

Infrastructure

In development

Self-hosted compute, storage and networking — the rack and the servers everything else here runs on.

The premise is machines owned outright rather than instances rented by the hour, with the storage, the network and the backups under one roof and one set of keys. The point is not the monthly bill. It is that the ground a business stands on cannot be repriced, deprecated or switched off by somebody else's roadmap. Every other division on this page is a tenant of this one.

Runs this company's own systems today. It is not a service anyone else can buy, and it will not be offered as one until it can survive somebody else depending on it.

Product Invention

In development

Where new products are originated and proven, before they graduate into a division of their own.

Ideas get built far enough to be used in real work rather than pitched at it. Most will not survive that, which is exactly why the division exists separately: it is very cheap to kill something here, and very expensive to kill it after it has a name, a domain and people depending on it. What survives leaves and takes its own division with it.

There is nothing to announce from it, and this page will stay quiet about it until there is.

Web and App Development

Live

Software built for other people: sites, applications, and the systems behind them.

This is the only division with something finished in the world. It builds the kind of software the rest of the company needs anyway — a database that holds up, an interface somebody can actually use, and an install a stranger can complete on their own hardware — and what it ships is meant to be handed over and run by its owner rather than hosted on the builder's behalf.

DoveBoard Shipped

A self-hosted command station for one life and one business: tasks, notes, calendar, money, invoicing, jobs and stock in a single window, over a single database, on a machine its owner controls.

Built, running, and used every day by the person who built it. It is not on sale yet — doveboard.com takes a waitlist and says the same thing there.

Automated Revenue Operations

In development

Agent-run business operations, designed to run without daily human input.

The far end of the pipeline. Once a product is proven and built, the routine work of running it — quoting, invoicing, chasing, reporting, the parts that are the same every week — should be a system rather than somebody's morning. A company of one only grows by making the running of things automatic, and it only earns the right to automate work it already understands by hand.

Nothing runs unattended yet. Automating a business before it is proven is an expensive way to do very little, very reliably.

Car Audio and Detailing

In development

Vehicle audio installation and detailing services.

The one division with nothing to do with software: audio systems specified and installed properly rather than dropped in, and interiors and paint brought back by hand. It is deliberately unlike the rest of the company, and that is its job — work that is finished the day it is done, depending on nothing further up the stack.

The company

One person, five divisions, and no hurry.

Synvarael Innovations is operated by one person. That is the entire staff list, and it is the reason this page reads the way it does: with one pair of hands the only honest way to build five divisions is one at a time, and the only way to keep that sequence honest is to say out loud which one is being built.

Software came first because software is the thing one person can actually finish. The rest are named, scoped and waiting their turn. None of them will be described here as further along than it is, and none of them has a date on it — a date that gets missed costs more than an admission that there isn't one.

The work is deliberate rather than fast. That is a trade, and it is being made on purpose.
